About us

The European Observatory on Children’s Television (OETI for its name in catalan) is an independent non-profit entity created in 1997 by Barcelona's Associations of the Audiovisual Arts. OETI works towards ensuring that children’s television programmes and audiovisual in general be educational, formative and entertaining.

MilioThe EOCT groups together the Barcelona International Audiovisual Festival, the World Forum on Children’s Television and the Observatory Sessions. These three sections are autonomous, though interrelated.

The work carried out on audio-visual media and children and youth, bears fruit day after day. With each new edition of the activities emerging from the Festival, the Forum and the Observatory Sessions, held annually in the month of November, there is a growing number of people showing interest in the issues: parents, educators, academics, journalists.
